Program

In Summer 2024, the Illinois Aerospace Institute (IAI) summer camps are tentatively scheduled to consist of two one-week on-campus camps and one virtual program for students entering grades 9-12 who are interested in learning about the field of aerospace engineering. Though most of the students who attend are from the Midwest, students come to us from all over the U.S. and internationally. Many campers have some sort of experience with the aerospace field, through model rockets, remote control airplanes, or having a family member who is a pilot, but no experience is necessary; just an interest in learning about the field of aerospace engineering.   Students will learn about a variety of topics regarding, engineering through discussion sessions, demonstrations, and hands-on activities.

The on-campus camp fee is $1,000.

The virtual camp fee is $150.  Participants will need to have access to a computer, Zoom, a scientific  calculator, and ordinary school supplies (ruler, scissors, etc.)

Scholarships are available for each camp. You will find additional information on this in the application.
